Carnival - A two day pre-Lenten festival celebrated right before Ash Wednesday. In Trinidad and Tobago the carnival season kicks off with fetes and parties (W.A.S.A fete, Fire fete, etc) throughout the duration of the season there are also: Calypso tents, Steelband competitions, Calypso competitions, Carnival King and Queen, Extempo Competition, Soca Monarch, Groovy Soca Monarch, Chutney Soca Monarch, Groovy Chutney Soca Monarch Calypso Monarch, Kiddies carnival, Jouvert, Dimanche Gras. the list goes on all culminating to the parade of the carnival bands on Carnival Monday and Tuesday.
