Spicy Beef Steamed Wontons Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pound minced beef
  • 3 tsp. minced fresh ginger root
  • 2 tsp. minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp. chives/green onions
  • 1 tsp. cilantro
  • 1 tsp. basil
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • Wonton skins
  • ¾ cups water
  • 1 tbsp. sesame oil
  • 1 tsp. chili pepper oil
  • 1 tsp. garlic salt

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mix together the beef, 2 teaspoons ginger , 1  teaspoon garlic ,1 tablespoon chives or green onions , 1 teaspoon cilantro, 1 teaspoon basil ,and 1 teaspoon chili powder.
  • Place a tablespoonful of filling in the center of a dumpling skin. Moisten the edges of a wonton with a few drops of water. Fold the wonton in half, and pinch the edges together to seal. Repeat process for each of the remaining wonton skin.
  • Over medium heat, bring the water to a boil. Add sesame oil and the prepared wonton dumplings. Cover and cook for 5-7 minutes. Then add 1 teaspoon garlic, 1 teaspoon ginger, 1 teaspoon chili pepper oil, 1 teaspoon garlic salt, 1 teaspoon soy sauce or oyster sauce, and 1 tablespoon green onions. Mix well and enjoy
