Spicy Beef Steamed Wontons Recipe
Spicy beef steamed wontons are dumplings stuffed with wonderfully flavored meat or vegetables.
Servings: 16 wontons
- 1 pound minced beef
- 3 tsp. minced fresh ginger root
- 2 tsp. minced garlic
- 2 tbsp. chives/green onions
- 1 tsp. cilantro
- 1 tsp. basil
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- Wonton skins
- 3 cups water
- 1 tbsp. sesame oil
- 1 tsp. chili pepper oil
- 1 tsp. garlic salt
In a large bowl, mix together the beef, 2 teaspoons ginger , 1 teaspoon garlic ,1 tablespoon chives or green onions , 1 teaspoon cilantro, 1 teaspoon basil ,and 1 teaspoon chili powder.
Place a tablespoonful of filling in the center of a dumpling skin. Moisten the edges of a wonton with a few drops of water. Fold the wonton in half, and pinch the edges together to seal. Repeat process for each of the remaining wonton skin.
Over medium heat, bring the water to a boil. Add sesame oil and the prepared wonton dumplings. Cover and cook for 5-7 minutes. Then add 1 teaspoon garlic, 1 teaspoon ginger, 1 teaspoon chili pepper oil, 1 teaspoon garlic salt, 1 teaspoon soy sauce or oyster sauce, and 1 tablespoon green onions. Mix well and enjoy
