The first time I ate saltfish accra I thought that it was a brilliant method to cook saltfish. I was, and still am, amazed with the combination and its unique taste.I still think it should not be classified as an appetizer though – after all, I have willfully eaten about five of those little gems on one occasion and felt satisfied. If you feel you’re up to it to beat my five, go right ahead! =^)
Saltfish Accra: A Simple Dish To Make
This simple dish can be prepared and done within half an hour. It is a great dish to serve at picnics, ‘limes’, parties and family gatherings. I have heard that some people eat it with a “float” (although in my opinion a “float” and a fry bake looks the same). Personally, I think accra is a great substitute for potato chips. It is a more nutritious appetizer. Better yet, try frying it in coconut oil. It goes great with dips such as mango chutney (look out for this recipe soon) or any other dip of your choice (it is not a hard and fast rule). I like to eat it with a dip made of ketchup, mustard, and pepper.
